Expert Tips
- You should combine the ingredients off the stove so that the mixture doesn’t turn lumpy.
- If the mixture doesn’t stick together to make a ball, don’t worry. Just cook it for a little longer and then try again. When you turn off the mixture, it will look a little liquid. Let it sit until it hardens, which will make it easier to form.
- I got a total of 13 tiny pedas for this measure. The amount of pedas you make also depends on how big they are.
- If the mixture is dry and splits when you form it, add a little milk and stir it thoroughly to make it smooth. However, adding milk will make it last less long. When you make balls, it will look shiny and sticky, so make sure to lubricate your hands properly.
- It takes at least an hour to obtain the right texture. If you taste it after shaping it, the taste will be good, but the texture will be chewy, so always let it sit for an hour before serving.
- If you put it in the fridge, let it come to room temperature before serving. Otherwise, the pedas will be hard.
- Always cook on low heat so the bottom doesn’t burn.
